We firmly believe “Character First” is the foundation of education. This character education is based on the Bible. It is our mission to let children know Christ from their early age, build a healthy heart, and grow in the teaching and love of God. Our school sets character themes every year, encourages children to practice them in life and build good characters through whole-school, graded and in-class character activities. The character themes include: joy, true love, initiative, orderliness, respect, self-confidence, gratitude, sharing, good use of resources, self-discipline, problem solving, etc.
The school has successively participated in the “Good Character Program” and the “Caring School Award Scheme” to cultivate children’s positive values. We help children establish a positive self-image and an optimistic and positive life attitude through different activities.
In 2019, we won the “Caring Home-School Cooperation Award” of the Caring School Award Scheme. This program emphasized praising home-school cooperation and promoting the healthy growth of children.
In 2017, we participated in the 2-year social and emotional development course, the “3Es Project”, held by the Education University of Hong Kong, which allowing children to understand and express their emotions through 3 stages: recognizing emotions, learning to regulate emotions and solve problems, looking at negative emotions from another perspective, so as to understand how to get along with others. In 2018, our school modified the contents of the plan and put them as our school-based character development goals. We hoped that our children can manage emotions, have positive thinking in different situations, establish good interpersonal interactions, and internalize the character qualities of joy.
